2nd Sunday Schedule
6:00 PM – sitting (vipassana) meditation
6:40 PM – walking meditation
7:00 PM – kindness (metta) meditation
7:15 PM – talk or questions
7:30 PM – finish CPG by registration (see below)
If you’re new, no need to contact us, just arrive a few minutes early to get oriented. Please bring a meditation pillow if you have one, a few pillows and chairs are available on a limited basis. This silent group meditation offers brief guided instructions at the beginning of each segment but the emphasis is on meditation practice. For mindfulness classes/training, please see below.
Mindfulness is not just a meditation, it is a different way of relating to our experience. Mindfulness training is a specific systematic process that develops this experience through an understanding of the context and application of the practice. In addition to the Sunday practice group, we recommend our classes to anyone interested in developing mindfulness.
2nd Sunday Committed Practice Group
meets during/after group
Donation (+$45 registration fee)
This small group uses traditional Theravada mentoring format and delves more deeply into a personal application of the traditional wisdom teachings by building on consecutive participation, dharma talks, mentoring: practice questions/discussion, reading and leadership roles.
Prerequisites: Level 1 (or equivalent) class, regular member of SLM, regular meditation practice, commitment.
